    History, mystery and fun!

I've done other walks and treasure trails, but I still learnt some fascinating facts. I loved the clues, some of them were quite cryptic and you had to think outside the box. It's a really well put together book and treasure hunt. Great for spending time and working together.

    A perfect pastime

This was a great way to spend a few hours. We loved the look and straightforward layout of the hunt that took us round a very attractive route. The interesting facts were a bonus adding the ideal amount of detail between clues.

Can you crack Southsea's most legendary unsolved mystery? (Suitable for adults and older children)

According to local legend, in the summer of 1910, a strange character appeared on Southsea Common for the first time, who became an overnight celebrity and a treasured city icon; a mechanical laughing sailor owned by local handyman Quentin Price.  However, on one sunny morning as Price was fixing a broken carriage wheel, someone secretly destroyed the machine in a terrible act of vandalism!
Why would someone want to silence Southsea’s iconic sailor? Was it a personal grudge against Price? Or did someone grow envious of the machine's huge profits?

You must follow the route through the historic streets of Southsea, eliminate the suspects, and track down the shadowy vandal to get to the bottom of this legendary mystery. On your journey you will be challenged with a range of cryptic clues including word games, maths puzzles, and hidden objects, as you unravel the crime and discover the best of Southsea's fascinating history.
